A brief description of changes in the rules from 2022 to 2024:
1. MTA Relay has been simplified. The 50s cap is now calculated from the lap limes. Example: A lap of 52.76s is capped to 50.00s. Less timers needed since no 50s timers resp. countdown is needed anymore.
Just make sure that at least 1MTA is in the air at any time during the round. Subsequent throws happen anytime before the previous catch, as before. Round ends with a valid catch inside the 50m circle as before.
2. Reduce confusion at 30m Relay: A possibility of audible signals (horn/whistle, two hoots) for short throws is included. Stated as optional, has to be tested before the competition!
3. Relative system is used for team events.
Reason: Endless discussion about international teams. Now, these teams don't influence the overall ranks of national teams anymore and the discussions hopefully come to an end.
4. No world record can be scored during the team cup. All events (also Trick Catch) for the team cup are declared as "team events".
5. All team events stop at a perfect score. Trick Catch, Accuracy, Aussie round: No continuation after 100p.
More team spirit. Reduces the possibility that 1 thrower can score a perfect team trick catch score of 400points (a >350p score of one thrower did happen at least once in wbc history).
Also, changes are highlighted in red in the rulebook.
